Vygotsky and Pedagogy: 2nd Edition (Paperback) - Routledge

We have used the text for a number of years in our introductory child development course. It provides a strong theoretical foundation for our students through its simple, direct approach. This includes not only the clear presentation of developmental theories in an understandable way, but also implications for and examples of how a particular approach impacts our work with children and families. I have had great feedback from students over the years and from a variety of faculty who have used it!

I find that this book covers the main theorists in simple, easy-to-read ways, yet still detailed enough to introduce the students to each theorist. What helped me choose this particulate book was that it wasn't designed in a typical ;textbook' format. This book is paperback, small, and reasonably priced so that I can use more than one book with my students. I like the quotes included at the beginning of each section and that each theorist has a biography, and that each theory is detailed, current, and to the point.

If I will read a book from cover to cover and enjoy it, I will use it with my students. Show More Show Less. Content Protection. Read Aloud. Flag as inappropriate. With the aim of clarifying themes and concepts for inexperienced researchers, the text explores ethical principles underpinning research, supported by case studies, which will be of particular relevance to students undertaking their own small-scale investigations.
