I know some people who have benefitted from following a ketogenic diet. It improved their mental clarity, lowered their waist circumference and increased their energy. However, I know a lot more individuals who did not see much benefit from this way of eating and, in fact, experience a decline in health when they tried a keto diet. Adopting a dieting mentality can be dangerous for those who have struggled with anxiety or an eating disorder in the past. My belief is that we need to stop pigeonholing ourselves into one dieting style, and instead focus on eating nutrient-dense real foods without feeling guilty if we indulge every once in a while. Grains, when sourced and prepared properly, can be very nourishing for most people. Restricting whole categories of foods or macronutrients can lead to obsessive behavior surrounding food.

Some of the recipes in the back of the book were worth the effort though, not too difficult to make, but full of taste. For those wanting to lose weight, the author provides an interesting recommendation — eat no more than 20 grams of sugar each day.
For me, I prefer the simple philosophy of eating in moderation, being physically active, and getting plenty of sleep.

She is the author of several books about cats, such as the book, Who Moved My Mouse? The Paleo Vegetarian Diet is for those wanting to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle, with several great-tasting recipes. Sep 26, Brandi rated it it was amazing. Though I personally find the whole diet a bit too restrictive, there is a lot of information that I can take from this book and use.
I would like to see a color edition of this book, but the guide is still excellent for what it is.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in this diet. I may try it in the future if I develop a bit more will power. Overall, I would rate it a 4.
